Figma UX and UI of the platform
Description
The project gave a fresh visual makeover to the myHR and myLearning sections of Italgas’s internal employee platform.
Process
Analyzing DESI, Italgas Design System
Italgas has a structured, well-crafted design system. The challenge was that it was built in Sketch rather than Figma, so we studied it closely to understand its core principles and design choices, then manually rebuilt the elements we needed, since the deliverable had to be in Figma.
Wireframes
With the design system understood, we moved on to the wireframes. That order may seem counterintuitive, but it let us move faster on decisions the design system had already settled.
UI
Through the UX phase, and especially the UI work, we worked closely with Italgas’s internal Design Lead, who had kicked off the project with us. The aim was to stay faithful to the existing design system. There were a few exceptions, some new components, and a handful of changes that were later adopted into the system itself.
Delivery
The work was long and demanding, and extremely rewarding. We worked with a lot of people on this project, which made for a genuine exchange of ideas.
