The original platform had been developed directly by an internal team, with no design phase and no system behind it. It worked, and people had learned their way around it. That’s a different constraint from inheriting someone else’s design work: there was no intent to respect, only habits.

Ten thousand professionals open this every working day, so the redesign had a rule: improve the tool, don’t make them learn it again.

The structure stays. Same three columns, same order, same section names: patient details and activity on the left, current status in the middle, visits and notes on the right. Someone who used the old platform on Friday finds everything in the same place on Monday.

What changes is the weight given to each thing inside that structure. Navigation moved from seven full-size tiles at the top of the screen to a single row of tabs, giving back a quarter of the viewport. Current weight became the largest number on the page with its delta beside it, and the weight trend, previously a heading with nothing under it, became an actual chart.

Built specifically for this platform: every component defined and documented, ready for the internal development team to implement without coming back with questions. It’s the first time the product has had one, and it’s what makes 100+ screens consistent rather than 100+ separate decisions.
